I love what the fashion industry dubs “Pre-Fall.” In my opinion it’s that perfect time of year when it’s not the scorching summer heat but not yet the super cold weather many of us have come to dread – I mean, it’s really hard to look super cute when there are subzero temps outside! It’s that in-between time of year that allows you to wear leathers and suedes, boots and throw in a little bit of fur but still be comfortable, warm and stylish. One of my favorite pre-fall trends (and probably one of my all-time favorites) is leopard print!
Believe it or not, I think leopard print can be incredibly classy and chic and this season it’s perfectly OK to drape yourself in it – literally! Leopard print coats have become the go-to staple of the pre-fall season and works best with a neutral palette underneath such as a black, tan, navy, and even camo green. This Alice + Olivia Faux Fur Jacket could take you through the fall season very easily and would make a great topper to almost any outfit. Tie in a little pop of red or cobalt blue like a scarf, a clutch or a shoe and you’re good to go! However, don’t tie yourself to the idea of a coat, if you don’t want to invest in such a statement piece, opt for a blousy button up in the bold print, a belt like this JCrew Calf Hair one, or a pair of loafers or heels like these closet staple worthy Manolo Blahnik kitten heels to punch up your regular rotation.
Just remember, this trend can truly be ageless if done right so don’t be afraid to play around with it. This super pronounced print is no longer just for your evening adventures!
